vanargu वनर्गु
Definition: ‘Forest-goer,’ is used in the Rigveda and the Atharvaveda to designate robbers who haunt the forests. In the Sāmaveda the term is more generally opposed to civilized men (kavayah, ‘sages’; vanargavah, ‘savages’).
