"śuṣkikā" iti. bhāvaḥ. ikāraśakārayoriti. tālusthānavivṛtaprayatnasāmyādubhayoḥ sāvaṇryaṃ prāptam.

pariśiṣyata iti bhāvaḥ. ṛkāraṣakārayoriti. mūrdhasthānavivṛtayatnasāmyādubhayoḥ sāvaṇryaṃ

"ekaikasmā"dityavyāhāryam. tena "anyārāditararte" iti paraśabdayoge pañcamīprasaṅgādādyānāṃ caturṇāmiti ṣaṣṭha()nupapanneti nirastam. yamo nāmeti. nāmaśabda itiparyāyaḥ. tadayamarthaḥ--kādicādiṭāditādipādipañcakātmakeṣu varṇeṣu ekaikasya vargasya ādyānāṃ caturṇāṃ madhye ekaikasmātpañcame varṇe pare madhye pūrvavarṇasadṛśo varṇo yama iti prātiśākhye prasiddha iti. atha yamānudāhmatya darśayati--palikknītyādinā tatsadṛśā eva yamā ityantena. evaṃ vargāntarayamānāmapyudāharaṇaṃ yāccñetyādi draṣṭavyam. tadevaṃ yamaśabdaṃ sāmānyato vyākhyāya ślokadvayaṃ vyācaṣṭe--tatretyādinā. tatra "khaya" ityasya vyākhyā--vargāṇāṃ prathamadvitīyāḥ khaya iti. "khayāṃ yamā" ityasya vivaraṇaṃ--tathā teṣāmeva yamā iti. "ka pau" ityasya vivaraṇaṃ--jihvāmūlīyopadhyamānīyāviti. visargaśabdaḥ prasiddhatvāt sa ṇavopāttaḥ. "śara" ityasya vivaraṇaṃ--śaṣasā iti. "ete ()āāsānupradānā aghoṣāśca vivṛṇvate kaṇṭha"mityetadvyācaṣṭe-eteṣāṃ vivāraḥ ()āāso'ghoṣaśceti. "anye tu ghoṣāḥ syuḥ saṃvṛtā nādabhāgina" ityetadvyācaṣṭe-anyeṣāṃ tu saṃvāro nādo ghoṣaśceti. "ayugmā vargayamagā" ityetadvyācaṣṭe--vargāṇāṃ prathamatṛtīyapañcamāḥ prathamatṛtīyayamāviti. pañcamānāṃ yamā'bhāvāditi bāvaḥ.
