ajagaveṣaditi. nivāsa ācchādane. aninivāsat. ūna parihāṇe. parihāṇam - nyūnībhāvaḥ.
ūnayatīti. ṇāvato lopa iti bhāvaḥ. nanu luṅi caṅi ūna i a t iti sthite ṇilope
`caṅī'tyajāderdvitīyasya naśabdasya dvitve ato lope aglopitvena
sanvattvā'bhāvādabhyāse ittvadīrghayorabhāve āṭo vṛddhau aunanaditi rūpaṃ vakṣyati,
tadanupapannaṃ, dvitvātprāgeva paratvādato lope kṛte niśabdasya dvitve
auninadityevamabhyāse ikāraśravaṇaprasaṅgāt. na ca dvitve kārye ato lopasya
`dvirvacane'cī'ti niṣedhaḥ śaṅkyaḥ, allopapayayoraparayo'rityeva vaktavye `pu' iti
pavargasya, `ya'ṇiti pratyāhārasya , jakārasya ca grahaṇaṃ liṅ?mityanvayaḥ. kutra
liṅgamityata āha – ṇicītyādi. dvitve kārye ṇijnimittako'ca ādeśo na
syādityatra liṅgamiti pūrveṇānvayaḥ. `tathāhi - `oḥ puyaṇjyapare' iti sūtram.
`sani pare yadaṅgaṃ tadavayavā'bhyāsovarṇasya ikāraḥ syādavarṇaparakeṣu pavargayaṇjakāreṣu parata'
iti tada. `puṅ' pipavāyiṣati, `bhū'bibhāvayiṣati, `yu'- yiyāvayiṣati, `ru'- rirāvayiṣati,
`lūñ'- lilāvayiṣati, `ju'- jijavayiṣatītyudāharaṇāni. atra dvitvaṃ pratyanimitte
ṇici `dvirvacane'cī'ti niṣedhā'pravṛttyā dvitvātprāgeva
paratvādvṛddhyāvādeśayoḥ kṛtayorabhyāseṣvākārasya hyasve sati `sanyataḥ' ityeva
ittvasiddheḥ pavargayaṇpratyāhārajakāragrahaṇaṃ vyartham. pakārayakāragrahaṇaṃ tu na
vyarthaṃ, pipāvayiṣati yiyāvayiṣatītyatra uktarītyā `sanyataḥ' iti ittvasiddhāvapi
pipaviṣate yiyaviṣatītyatra pūṅdhātoryudhātośca aṇyantātsani abyāse ittvārthaṃ
tadāvaśyakatvāt. tatra hi – `iko jha'la#iti sanaḥ kittvāt `śryukaḥ kiti' iti
prāptamiṇniṣedhaṃ bādhitvā, `smipūṅrañjvaśāṃ sanī'ti,
`sanīvantadrdhabhrasjadambhuśrisvṛyūrṇubharajñapisanā'miti ca sūtrābhyāmiṭi kṛte
iḍādeḥ sano dvitvanimittatvena iṭo'pi dvitvanimittatayā `dvirvacane'cī'ti
guṇāvā'deśayorniṣedhe sati `pū' `yu' ityanayordvitve abhyāse akārā'bhāvena
`sanyataḥ' ityasyā'pravṛttyā tat ittvārthaṃ `payayo'rityāvaśyakam.
vargapratyāhārajakāragrahaṇaṃ `tu dvitve kārye ṇāvaca ādeśo ne'tyanāśrayaṇe
vyarthameva. tadāśrayaṇe tu bibhāvayiṣatītyādiṣu ṇici lu?pate sati `caṅī'ti dvitve
kārye pratyayalakṣamamāśritya ṇici guṇā'vādeśayoḥ pratiṣedhe sati uvarṇāntānāṃ
dvitva abhyāse akārā'bhāvena `sanyataḥ' ityasyā'pravṛttyā
vargapratyāhārajakāragrahaṇamarthavat. ato dvitve kārye ṇāvaca ādeśo neti vijñāyata
ityarthaḥ. nanu `kṛ?ta saṃśabdane' asmāt ṇau `upadhāyāśce'ti dīrghe acikīrtaditi
rūpamiṣyate. tanna yujyate. dvitve kartavye ṇāvaca ādeśasya niṣiddhatayā
ittvātprāgeva kṛ?dityasya dvitve, uradattve, raparatve, halādiśeṣe, kasya
cutve, uttarakhaṇḍe, ṛta ittve, raparatve, upadhādīrghe, acakīrtadityāpatterityata
āha– yatra dviruktāvityādi. yatra dhātau caṅi dvirvacane kṛte abhyāsottarakhaṇḍasya
ādyo'c avarṇo labhyate tatraiva dvitve kārye ṇāvaca ādeśo netyayaṃ niṣedha
ityanvayaḥ. yadyapi dhātoravayavasya ekāco dvitve kṛte abhyāsottarakhaṇḍe
dvitīyasyā'cobhāvādādyo'jiti vyarthameva, tathāpi spaṣṭārthaṃ tadityāhuḥ.
nanvabhyāsottarakhaṇḍasyādyo'javarṇo labhyate ityatra kimavarṇo
dvitvapravṛttivelāyāṃ vivakṣitaḥ, uta pariniṣṭhite rūpe vivakṣitaḥ ?, nādyaḥ,
kṣudhātoṇryantātsani cukṣāvayiṣatītyatra `kṣu' ityasya dvitve kṛte
abhyāsottarakhaṇḍe prakriyādaśāyāmavarṇā'bhāvena vṛddhyāvādeśayorniṣedhā'pravṛttyā
dvitvātprāgeva paratvādvṛddhyāvādeśayoḥ kṣāvityasya dvitve
cikṣāvayiṣatītyāpatteḥ. na dvitīyaḥ, ūna i a t iti sthite sati `ne'tyasya
dvitve'bhyāsottarakhaṇḍe'llope satyavarṇā'bhāvena ṇāvallopasya niṣedhā'pravṛtyā
dvitvāt prāgeva paratvādato lope sati `nī' tyasya dvitve aunanadityāpatterityata
āha– prakriyāyāṃ pariniṣṭhite rūpe veti. na tvamukatraivetyāgraha iti bhāvaḥ.
sajātīye puyaṇjāmabhyāsottarakhaṇḍe'varṇaparatvaniyamāditi bhāvaḥ. siddhamiti.
prakriyāyāṃ pariniṣṭhite vā uttarakhaṇḍe avarṇā'bhāvādṛ?ta ittvasya na niṣedha iti
bhāvaḥ. evaṃ ca `cukṣāvayiṣatī'tyatra `kṣu' ityasya dvitve
prakriyādaśāyāmabhyāsottarakhaṇḍe'varṇā'bhāve'pi pariniṣṭhite rūpe tatsattvāṇṇau
guṇāvādeśayorbhavatyeva dvitve kārye niṣedhaḥ. aunanadityatrāpi ṇau
bhavatyevā'llopasya niṣedha ityāha – prakṛte tviti. aunanadityatretyarthaḥ.
naśabdasyeti. allopātprāgeva naśabdasya dvitvāśrayaṇe
prakriyādaśāyāmuttarakhaṇḍe'varṇalābhādallopasya niṣedhe sati naśabdasyaiva dvitvaṃ, na
tu niśabdasyeti bhāvaḥ. tata iti. naśabdasya dvitvā'nantaramuttarakhaṇḍe allopa iti
bhāvaḥ. atra naśabdadvitvārtameva ūnadhātoradantatvaṃ sthitam. phalāntaraṃ sūcayannāha -
- mā bhavānūnanaditi. aglopitvānnopadhāhyasva iti bhāvaḥ. pāṭhāntaramiti. `keta
śrāvaṇe' ityādi jñeyamityarthaḥ. cakārātketeti. `samuccīyate' itiśeṣaḥ. saṅkocane
itīti. itiśabdaḥ pāṭhāntarasamāptau. stena caurye. anekāctvānna ṣopadeśo'yamiti
matvā āha– atistenaditi. gṛha grahaṇe. ṛdupadho'yam. gṛhayate iti. alla#opasya
sthānivattvānna guṇa iti bhāvaḥ. luṅi - ajagṛhata. aglopitvānna sanvattavam. mṛga
anveṣaṇe. mṛgayate iti. ihā'pyallopasya sthānivattvānna guṇaḥ. `mārg anveṣaṇe'
ityādhṛṣīyasya tu mārgayati,mārgatīti ca gatam. artha upayācñāyām. arthayate iti.
artha i iti sthite ato lopaḥ, na tu `aco ñṇitī'ti vṛddhi, `vṛddherlopo balīyā'
niti nyāyāt. `arthavedayo'rityāpuktu na, tatra prātipadikasya grahaṇāt. garva
māne. abhimāne ityarthaḥ. nanu kathādāvasya pāṭho vyarthaḥ, adantatve phalā'bhāvāt. naca
sanvattvanivṛttaye aglopitvāya adantatvamiti śaṅkyaṃ, laghuparakatvā'bhāvādeva
tadaprasakteḥ. nā'pyallopasya sthānivadbhāvādupadhāvṛddhinivṛttyarthamadantatvamiti,
śaṅkyaṃ, gakārādakārasyānupadhātvādeva tadaprasakterityata āha- -
adnatatvasāmathryāṇṇijvikalpa iti. nanu `garvate' ityatra ṇijabhāve'pyadantatvaṃ
niṣphalamiti kataṃ tasya vikalpajñāpakatetyata āha – dhātoranta udātta iti. tena `garvate'
ityatra vakārādakāraudāttaḥ phalati. adantatvā'bhāve tu gakārādakāra udāttaḥ syāditi
bhāvaḥ. liṭa\ufffdām ceti. `garvācakre' itaytra `kāsyanekācaḥ'
ityāmpratyayo'pyadantatvasya phalamityarthaḥ. anyathā anekāctvā'bhāvādāmna
syāditi bhāvaḥ. evamagre'pīti. `mūtra praruāvaṇe' ityādāvityarthaḥ.
ityāgavarvīyāḥ. sūtra veṣṭane. anekāctvādaṣopadeśatvārthamasya adantatvamiti na
tato'sya ṇijvikalpaḥ. katra śaithilye. karta ityapīti. adantatvasāmathryādasya
ṇijvikalpa iti matvāha – kartayati kartatīti. prātipadikāddhātvarthe.
curādigamasūtramidam. `iṣṭha'vaditi saptamyantādvatiḥ. tena bhuvamācaṣṭe bhāvayītyatra
`iṣṭhasya yiṭ ce'ti yiḍāgamo na bhavati. tadāha –iṣṭhe yatheti. atra `dhātvarthe ityanena
karaṇam ākhyānaṃ darśanaṃ vacanaṃ śravaṇamityādi gṛhrate. puṃvadbhāveti. atiśayena paṭvī
paṭiṣṭhetyatra `bhasyā'ḍhe' iti puṃvattvam. `draḍhiṣṭha' ityatra `ra ṛto
halāderlagho'riti rabhāvaḥ. atiśayena sādhuḥ sādhiṣṭha ityatra ṭilopaḥ. atiśayena ruāgvī
ruājiṣṭha ityatra `vinmatorlu'giti vino luk. atiśayena gomān gaviṣṭha ityatra
matupo luk'tiśayena sthūlaḥ sthaviṣṭha ityādau `sthūladūrayuve'tyādinā yaṇādilopaḥ,
pūrvasya ca guṇaḥ. atiśayena priyaḥ preṣṭha ityādau `priyasthire'tyādinā
prasthādyādeśaḥ. atiśayena ruāgvī ruājiṣṭha ityatra bhatvānna kutvam. ete iṣṭhe
iva ṇāvapi parataḥ syurityarthaḥ. paṭayatīti. paṭumācaṣṭe ityādyarthe ṇic.
iṣṭhavattvāṭṭeriti ṭilopa iti bhāvaḥ. nanu ukārasya ṭerlope sati
aglopitvātsanvattvaṃ na syādityata āha— paratvādadvṛddhau satyāṃ ṭilopa iti.
`aco ñṇitīta'ti ukārasya vṛddhau kṛtāyāmekārasya ṭerlopaḥ. akṛtāyāṃ tu
vṛddhāvukārasya ṭerlopaḥ. tataśca `śabdāntarasya prāpnuvanvidhiranityaḥ' iti
nyāyena ṭilopo'nityaḥ. vṛddhistu ṭilope kṛte sati naiva bhavatīti sā'pyanityā. evaṃca
vṛddhiṭolopayorubhayormadhye paratvādukārasya vṛddhiraukāraḥ. tasyā'vādeśātprāgeva
paratvādvārṇādāṅgasya balīyastvācca aukārasya ṭerlopaityarthaḥ. evaṃ ca
anaglopitvātsanvattvamiti matvā''ha - apīpaṭaditi. etacca `muṇḍamiśre'ti sūtre
bhāṣyakaiyaṭayoḥ spaṣṭam. sthitamiti. tathā ca vṛddheḥ prāgukārasya lope'glopitvānna
sanvattvamityarthaḥ. bhāṣye ubhayathā darśanādrūpadvayamapi sādhviti bodhyam.
śabdenduśekhare tu – `vṛddherlopo balīyā'niti `ṇau caṅī'ti sūtrabhāṣyameva pramāṇaṃ.
`muṇḍamiśre'ti sūtrabhāṣyaṃ tvekadeśyuktiriti prapañcitam. atra
puṃvadbhāvādikamudāhyiyate– enīmācaṣṭe etayati. puṃvadbhāvānṅībnakārayornivṛttiḥ.
dṛḍhamācaṣṭe draḍhayati. `ra ṛtaḥ' iti rabhāvaḥ. ruāgviṇamācaṣṭe ruājayati. `vinmato'riti
vino luk. gomantamācaṣṭe gavayati. matupo luk. aṅgavṛttaparibhāṣayā na vṛddhiḥ.
sthūlamācaṣṭe sthavayatītyādiṣu yaṇādilopaḥ. priyamācaṣṭe prāpayati, sthiramācaṣṭe
sthāpayatītyādiṣu prasthasphādyādeśāḥ. atra vṛddhirbhavatyeva, `dvayo'riti
nirdeśena aṅgavṛttaparibhāṣayā anityatvāśrayaṇāt. ruāgviṇamācaṣṭe ruājayati.
subantādvihitasya vino lukyantarvartivibhaktyā padatvāt prāptaṃ kutvaṃ
bhatvānna bhavati. tatkaroti tadācaṣṭe. idamapi curādigaṇasūtram.
prātipadikādityanuvartate. tatkaroti, tadācaṣṭe iti cārthe prātipadikāṇṇic
syādityarthaḥ. ācārakvibiva prātipadikādevedam. nanu `prātipadikāddhātvarthe'
ityeva siddhe kimarthamidamityata āha– pūrvasyaiva prapañca iti. nanu karoti ācaṣṭe iti
vartamānānirdeśādakarodityādyartheṣu na syādityata āha –karotyacaṣṭe ityādi.
laḍartha ityupalakṣaṇam. tena bhūte bhaviṣyati dvitve bahutve ca pratyayo bhavatyeva.
tenātikrāmati. idamapi gaṇasūtram. `prātipadikāddhātvarthe' ityasyaiva prapañcaḥ.
vācā'tikrāmati vācayati ityatra kutvaṃ tu na śaṅkyam, asubantādeva
prātipadikātpratyayotpatteḥ. dhāturūpaṃ ceti. idamapi gaṇasūtram. ṇicprakṛtiriti,
pratipadyate #iti cādhyāhmatya vayācaṣṭe – ṇic?prakṛtirdhāturūpaṃ pratipadyata
iti. nanu prātipadikāddhātvarthe ṇij bhavati, ṇic?prakṛtirdhāturūpaṃ ca pratipadyate
iti pratīyamānārthaśrayaṇe bhuktamācaṣṭe bhuktayatīti na syāt. bhuktaśabdasya
bhujadāturādeśaḥ syādityata āha– vaśabdo'nuktasamuccayārtha iti. kimanuktaṃ samuccīyate
ityata āha– tathā ca vārtikamiti. ākhyānātkṛta iti.`hetumati ce'ti sūtre idaṃ
vārtikaṃ sthitam. ākhyānaṃ –vṛttakathāprabandhaḥ. tadvācinaḥ
kṛdantātkaṃsavadhādiśabdāttadācaṣṭe ityarthe ṇici kṛte ṇicprakṛtyavayavabhūtasya kṛtaḥ
luk, tasyaiva kṛto yā prakṛtirhanādidhāturūpā, tasyāḥ pratyāpattiḥ =
ādeśādivikāraparityāgena svarūpeṇā'vasthānaṃ bhavatītyarthaḥ. `prakṛtivacca
kārakaṭamityaśastu mūla eva vyākhyāsyate. kaṃsavadhamācaṣṭe kaṃsaṃ ghātayatītyudāharaṇam. hananaṃ
vadhaḥ. `hanaśca vadhaḥra' iti bhāve hanadhātorappratyayaḥ prakṛtervadhādeśaśca. kaṃsasya vadhaḥ
kaṃsavadhaḥ. tadanvākhyānaparavākyasandarbho vivakṣa#itaḥ. tamācaṣṭe ityarthe ṇic.
appratyayasya kṛto luk , prakṛtibhūtasya hanadhātorvadhādeśasya ca nivṛttiḥ. tathā ca
phalitaṃ darśayati– iha kaṃsaṃ han i iti sthite iti.

spaṣṭapratipattyarthaṃ, dhātoravayasyaikāco ditve satyabhyāsottarakhaṇḍe
ajdvayā'saṃbhavādityāhuḥ. aujaḍhat aunanadityādau pariniṣṭhite avarṇasyā'lābhādāha-
- prakriyāyāmiti. cukṣāvayiṣatītyādau prakriyāyāmavarṇo na labhyate ityāha-
- pariniṣṭhite rūpe veti. vāśabdo'nāsthāyām. kvacidavarṇaparatvaṃ vivakṣitaṃ, na tu
amukatraivetyāgraha iti bhāvaḥ. sajātīyāpekṣatvāditi. `puyaṇjī'tyabhyāsottarakhaṇḍe
avarṇaparā bhavanti. atastathaiva jñāpakamityarthaḥ. ata eva bhāṣyakṛtā
`pavargāderanyasminnapi hali avarṇapare eva sthānivattavamiti acikīrtadityādau

kārye aca ādeśo na syādityeva jñāpyatāmiti vācyaṃ, didavanīyiṣati
ninayiṣatītyādāvabhyāse ukāraśravaṇaprasaṅgāditi cet. atrāhuḥ– yena
nāvyavadhānamityakena pratyayena dvitvanimittapratyayasya vyavadhānamāśrīyate. tacca
ṇereva saṃbhavatīti ṇijviṣayakameva jñāpakaṃ, didavanīyiṣatītyatra tu lyuṭā kyacā ca
vyavadānādanekavyavadhānamiti na tadviṣayakaṃ jñāpanamiti. asmanmate
ācārakvibantāddivanaśabdātsani dudavaniṣatīti syāt, tacca neṣyate, `ṇau
sthānivadbhāvasya jñāpaka' miti vārtikokteḥ. sthānivattvena pratiṣedhena vā
ṇāvevābhyāse ukāreṇa bhavitavyam. ato vārtikakāravacanādeva ṇau sthānivaditi
svīkartavyam. tathā ca na pūrvodāharaṇeṣu doṣa iti dik. phalitamāha– prakṛtetvita#i.
aunanaditi. `nonayati dhvanayatī'ti caṅ niṣedhastviha na. tatra chandasītyanuvṛttyā `mā
tvāyato jarituḥ kāmamūnayī'rityādivede eva tanniṣedhāt. yadyapi pariniṣṭhita
evā'varṇaparatvamitayāśayena `uvarṇādeśa eva sthānivatsyānnā'nya' iti vadatāṃ
bopadevādīnāṃ mate auninadityeva bhāvyam, avarṇādeśasya sthānivattve tu
pariniṣṭhitarūpe avarṇaparatvā'lābhāt, tathāpi acikīrtadityādau sthānivattvāśaṅkya
uttarabhāge avarṇā'bhāvāditi bhāṣyakāroktaparihāraparyālocanayā uvarṇādeśa eva
sthānivaditi niyamo nāstītyaunanaditirūpaṃ nirbādhameva. caṅi upadhālope tasya
sthānivattvātpāy?śabdasya dvitvamiti vṛttigrantho virudhyeta. api ca
`śuṣkikā śuṣkajaṅghā ca kṣāmimānaujaḍhattathe'ti vaiyāghrapadyavārtikasya aujaḍhaditi
prayogo'pi virudhyeta. etaddhi pūrvatrā'siddhamityasya prayojana kathanavārtikam.
tadyathā— śuṣkiketyatra tu `udīcāmātaḥ' itītvavikalpo na, `śuṣaḥ kaḥ'iti
katvasyā'siddhatvena yakapūrvatvā'bhāvāt. `suṣkarajaṅghe'tyatra
katvasyā'siddhatvādeva `na kopadhāyāḥ' iti puṃvadbhāvaniṣedho na. kṣāmimānityatra tu
`mādupadhāyā' iti vatvaṃ na, `kṣāyo maḥ' iti matvasyā'siddhatvāt. vaheḥ
ktāntāṇṇici caṅi aujaḍhadityatra ḍhatvasyā'siddhatvāṇṇau kṛtasya ṭilopasya
sthānivattvācca h?taśabdasya dvitvaṃ. `kuhoścuḥ' `abhyāse carca'. sanvaditvaṃ
tu anaglopīti pratiṣedhānna bhavati. evaṃ kāśikāyāmapi `pūrvatrāsiddha'miti sūtre
aujaḍhadityudāhmatya, ūḍhimākhyadaujiḍhadityetattu ktinnantasya ūḍhiśabdasya
bhavatītyuktaṃ, tadapi virudhyeta. `uvarṇādeśa eva sthāniva'diti niyame ṇau kṛtasya
ṭilopasyā'tra sthānivattvā'bhāvena h?taśabdasya htiśabdasya vā dvitvā'saṃbhavāt.
evaṃ cā'ṅkadhātorṇicyallope caṅi sthānivattvātkaśabdasya dvitve āñcakaditi
rūpameva sarvasaṃmataṃ, na tvāñcikaditi bopadevoktamiti bodhyam. nanvacikīrtadityādau
sthānivattvamāśaṅkyottarabhāge avarṇā'bhāvāditi vadanbhāṣyakāro na bopadevagranthasya
pratikūlaḥ. uttarabhāge pariniṣṭhitarūpe avarṇaparatvamuvarṇādeśasyaiva saṃbhavati
nānyasyetyāśayenaiva bhāṣyakāreṇa tathoktamiti vakkatuṃ śakyatvāditi cet. maivam. tathā
hi sati yatra `oḥ puyaṇjī'tyasyā'prāptistatrāpyuvarṇādeśa evasthānivat,
jñāpakasya sajātīyāpekṣatvādityevameva bhāṣyakāro vadet. ṛjumārgeṇa sidhyato'rthasya
vakreṇa sādhanā'yogāditi dik. saṅketa. catvāro'tra dhātavaḥ. pāṭhāntaramiti. `saṅkocane'
ityetatparyantam. anekāctvenā'ṣopadeśatvātṣatvaṃ neti dhvanayati– atistenaditi.
gṛhayate iti. allopasya sthānivattvānna guṇaḥ. luṅi–ajagṛhata. aglopānna
sanvadbhāvaḥ. mṛgayate iti. mārgayati mārgatīti tu mārga anveṣaṇe ityādhṛṣīyasya.
artha. arthayate iti. `vṛddherlopo balīyā'nityallopānna vṛddhiḥ. bopadevastu-
- vṛddhau kṛtāyāṃ puki cā'rthāpayate iti rūpamāha, tadrabhasāt. na ca
`arthavedasatyānā'mityāpuk syādeveti vācyaṃ, tatra prātipadikasya grahaṇāt.
adantatvasāmathryāditi. kathādiṣūpadhāvṛddhidīrghasanvadbhāvaviraheṇa,
sārabhāmaprabhṛtīnāmupadhāhyasvasya, gṛhamṛgaprabhṛtīnāmupadhāguṇasya ca
vyāvartanenā'dantatvaṃ sārthakam. iha tvadantatve prāguktaphalā'bhāvāṇṇicaḥ
pākṣikatvaṃ jñāpayīti bhāvaḥ. nanvadantatvasārthakatvāya `vā'llopa' iti
prācoktamevābhyupagamyatāmiti cet. atrāhuḥ– `cintayateridittvaṃ
sāmānyāpekṣaṃ jñāpaka'miti mate iha adanttavasya phalaṃ spaṣṭameva. `viśeṣā'pekṣaṃ
jñāpaka'miti mate tu tatra tatra ākāra īkāra ukāra ūkāraścetyanubandhā yathā jñāpakataya#ā
svīkṛtāstathā adantatā'pi ṇicvikalpameva jñāpayatu, klṛptenaiva ṇijvikalpena
kṛtārthatve apūrvasya lopabādhasya kalpanāyā anyāyyatvāt. evaṃ hi sati

kraśiṣṭhaḥ draḍhiṣṭha ityatra `ra ṛto halāde'riti rabhāvaḥ. `sādhiṣṭha' ityādau ṭilopaḥ.
atiśayena ruāgvī ruājiṣṭha ityatra `vinamatorlu'giti vino luk. atiśayena gomān
gaviṣṭha ityādau matupo luk. sthaviṣṭha ityādau `sthūladūre'tyādinā yaṇādilopaḥ.

sanniyogaśiṣṭatvānnakāranivṛttau siddhāyāṃ puṃvadbhāvagrahaṇaṃ daradamācaṣṭe

sthāpayītyādau tu vṛddhirbhavatyeva, `dvayo'riti nirdeśena tasyāḥ paribhāṣāyā

ṭilopasya sthānivattvena vyavadhānāddīrghasanvadbhāvau nati na bhramitavyam,
sthānivattve'pyaṅgasya ṇicparatvā'napāyāt. caṅ pare ṇau yallaghviti pakṣe'pi

paścādvirvacanamiti matvā abhyāsasya ādiṣṭādacaḥ pūrvatvena sthānivattvameva
nāstīti manoramoktaṃ yat, tannādartavyam. `ṇicyaca ādeśo na syādvitve kartavye'

`muṇḍamiśre'ti sūtre halikalyoradantatvanipātanasya vaiyathryameva, vṛddheḥ prāk
ṭilope sati aglopitvasaṃbhavāt. tathā cā'dantatvanipātanasāmathryāṭṭilopātpūrvaṃ

"uvarṇādeśa eva sthāniva"diti niyame ṇau kṛtasya ṭilopasyā'tra sthānivattvā'bhāvena h()taśabdasya htiśabdasya vā dvitvā'saṃbhavāt. evaṃ cā'ṅkadhātorṇicyallope caṅi sthānivattvātkaśabdasya dvitve āñcakaditi rūpameva sarvasaṃmataṃ, na tvāñcikaditi bopadevoktamiti bodhyam. nanvacikīrtadityādau sthānivattvamāśaṅkyottarabhāge avarṇā'bhāvāditi vadanbhāṣyakāro na bopadevagranthasya pratikūlaḥ. uttarabhāge pariniṣṭhitarūpe avarṇaparatvamuvarṇādeśasyaiva saṃbhavati nānyasyetyāśayenaiva bhāṣyakāreṇa tathoktamiti vakkatuṃ śakyatvāditi cet. maivam. tathā hi sati yatra "oḥ puyaṇjī"tyasyā'prāptistatrāpyuvarṇādeśa evasthānivat, jñāpakasya sajātīyāpekṣatvādityevameva bhāṣyakāro vadet. ṛjumārgeṇa sidhyato'rthasya vakreṇa sādhanā'yogāditi dik. saṅketa. catvāro'tra dhātavaḥ. pāṭhāntaramiti. "saṅkocane" ityetatparyantam. anekāctvenā'ṣopadeśatvātṣatvaṃ neti dhvanayati-- atistenaditi. gṛhayate iti. allopasya sthānivattvānna guṇaḥ. luṅi--ajagṛhata. aglopānna sanvadbhāvaḥ. mṛgayate iti. mārgayati mārgatīti tu mārga anveṣaṇe ityādhṛṣīyasya. artha. arthayate iti. "vṛddherlopo balīyā"nityallopānna vṛddhiḥ. bopadevastu-- vṛddhau kṛtāyāṃ puki cā'rthāpayate iti rūpamāha, tadrabhasāt. na ca "arthavedasatyānā"mityāpuk syādeveti vācyaṃ, tatra prātipadikasya grahaṇāt. adantatvasāmathryāditi. kathādiṣūpadhāvṛddhidīrghasanvadbhāvaviraheṇa, sārabhāmaprabhṛtīnāmupadhāhyasvasya, gṛhamṛgaprabhṛtīnāmupadhāguṇasya ca vyāvartanenā'dantatvaṃ sārthakam. iha tvadantatve prāguktaphalā'bhāvāṇṇicaḥ pākṣikatvaṃ jñāpayīti bhāvaḥ. nanvadantatvasārthakatvāya "vā'llopa" iti prācoktamevābhyupagamyatāmiti cet. atrāhuḥ-- "cintayateridittvaṃ sāmānyāpekṣaṃ jñāpaka"miti mate iha adanttavasya phalaṃ spaṣṭameva. "viśeṣā'pekṣaṃ jñāpaka"miti mate tu tatra tatra ākāra īkāra ukāra ūkāraścetyanubandhā yathā jñāpakataya#ā svīkṛtāstathā adantatā'pi ṇicvikalpameva jñāpayatu, klṛptenaiva ṇijvikalpena kṛtārthatve apūrvasya lopabādhasya kalpanāyā anyāyyatvāt. evaṃ hi sati matadvaye'pyekarūpameva phalaṃ labhyata iti. asusūtraditi. anekāctvānna ṣatvam. prātipadikāditi. yadi subantāṇṇic syāttadā ruājayatītyādau kutvaṃ syāditi bhāva iti kecit. tanna. iṣṭhavadbhāvena bhatve kutvasyā'prasakteḥ. atra "bahulaṃ ṇic syāt. sa ca ṇic iṣṭhavadbhavatī"tyanvayātpakṣe vākyamapi bhavatītyāha-- paṭumācaṣṭa iti. dhātvartha ityanena karaṇa''khyānādirgṛhrata iti bhāvaḥ. nanu bahūnyācaṣṭe bhāvayītyatra "iṣṭhasya yiṭ ce"ti ṇico'pi yiṭ syāt. atrāhuḥ-- "ṭe"riti sūtre "ṇāviṣṭhavatprātipadikasye"ti vārtike prātipadikagrahaṇaṃ pratyayakāryāṇāmatideśo mābhūdityevamartham. tenā'tra ṇico'pīṇna bhavati, tadabhāve bhūbhāvenāpi na bhavitavyaṃ, saṃniyogaśiṣṭatvāt, kiṃtu bahayatītyeva bhavitavyamiti matāntaram. etacca tatraiva sūtre kaiyaṭe spaṣṭamiti. anye tvāhuḥ-- iṣṭhavaditi hi saptamyantādvatiḥ, ṇāvityupameye saptamīdarśanāt, tena iṣṭhani pare pūrvasya yatkāryaṃ tadatidiśyate na tviṣṭhano'pīti. puṃvadbhāveti. atiśayena paṭvī paṭiṣṭhetyatra "bhasyā'ḍhe taddhite" iti puṃvadbhāvaḥ. kraśiṣṭhaḥ draḍhiṣṭha ityatra "ra ṛto halāde"riti rabhāvaḥ. "sādhiṣṭha" ityādau ṭilopaḥ. atiśayena ruāgvī ruājiṣṭha ityatra "vinamatorlu"giti vino luk. atiśayena gomān gaviṣṭha ityādau matupo luk. sthaviṣṭha ityādau "sthūladūre"tyādinā yaṇādilopaḥ. preṣṭha ityādau "priyasthire"tyādinā prasthādyādeśaḥ. tadvaṇṇāvapīti. puṃvadbhāvasyodāharaṇam- ainīmācaṣṭe etayati. ṭilopenaiva sanniyogaśiṣṭatvānnakāranivṛttau siddhāyāṃ puṃvadbhāvagrahaṇaṃ daradamācaṣṭe dāradayatītyādisidhyarthamiti bodhyam. draḍhayatītyādau rabhāvaḥ. ruāgviṇamācaṣṭe ruājayatītyatra vino luk. gomantamācaṣṭe gavayatītyatra matupo luk. aṅgavṛttapirabhāṣayā vṛddhiratra na bhavati. priyamācaṣṭe prāpayati, sthiramācaṣṭe sthāpayītyādau tu vṛddhirbhavatyeva, "dvayo"riti nirdeśena tasyāḥ paribhāṣāyā anityatvajñāpanāditi dik. paratvādvṛddhāviti. lopaḥ śabdāntaraprāptyā'nityaḥ. vṛddhirapyanityā. ubhayoranityayoḥ paratvādvṛddhiḥ. tasyāṃ kṛtāyāmaukārasyā''vādeśātprāgeva paratavādvārṇādāṅgasya balīyastvācca lopa ityarthaḥ. evaṃ cā'naglopitvāddīrghasanvadbhāvau sta ityāha--- apīpaṭaditi. iha ṭilopasya sthānivattvena vyavadhānāddīrghasanvadbhāvau nati na bhramitavyam, sthānivattve'pyaṅgasya ṇicparatvā'napāyāt. caṅ pare ṇau yallaghviti pakṣe'pi abhyāsasya ādiṣṭādacaḥ pūrvatvena sthānivattvameva nāstīti dīrghasanvadbhāvau sta eva. kecittu "caṅ pare ṇau yallaghvi"ti pakṣe paṭuśabdokārasya vṛddhau kṛtāyāṃ ṇicparaṃ laghu durlabhamiti sanvadbhāvā'prāptyā apapaṭadityeva rūpam. prathamaṃ ṭilopaḥ, paścādvirvacanamiti matvā abhyāsasya ādiṣṭādacaḥ pūrvatvena sthānivattvameva nāstīti manoramoktaṃ yat, tannādartavyam. "ṇicyaca ādeśo na syādvitve kartavye" #iti niṣedhapakṣasya mukhyatayā prāguktatvena prathamaṃ ṭilopasya durupapādatvādityāhustanmandam. apīpaṭadityatra dvitīyā'cparyantasya prathamāvayavasya dvitvamiti hi nirvivādam. tathā ca dvitīyasyā'co dvitvakaraṇātprathamaṃ ṭilopaḥ syādeveti. vṛddherlopa iti. kṛtā'kṛtaprāptimātreṇa lopo nityaḥ, vṛddhistvanityā, ṭilope sati sthāninaḥ pūrvatra kartavyāyāṃ lopasya sthānivattvāt, svavidhau svasya sthānivattvā'bhāvācca. a()smastu pakṣe "muṇḍamiśre"ti sūtre halikalyoradantatvanipātanasya vaiyathryameva, vṛddheḥ prāk ṭilope sati aglopitvasaṃbhavāt. tathā cā'dantatvanipātanasāmathryāṭṭilopātpūrvaṃ vṛddhirevetyanaglopitvādapīpaṭadityeva rūpaṃ sādhviti pratīyate. bhāṣyadvayaprāmāṇyādrūpadvayamapi sādhviti bahavaḥ. laḍarthastviti. karotyācaṣṭe iti hi kartari vartamāne laḍekavacanam. laḍarthā'vivakṣāyāṃ tu ṇyantādbhāvakarmaṇorbhūtabhaviṣyatordvitvabahutvayośca pratyayo bhavatyeveti bhāvaḥ. yadyapyekatvādisaṅkhyā laḍartho na bhavati, tathāpi laḍādeśatiṅartho'pīha laḍarthatvena gṛhīta iti jñeyam. tenātikrāmati. tṛtīyāprakṛtibhṛtātprāptipadikāṇṇic. tṛtīyāntaṇṇijityanye. evaṃ tatkarotītyatrāpi dvitīyāprakṛtibhūtāddvitīyāntādvā ṇic. na ca subantāṇṇici vācaṃ karotyācaṣṭe vācā'tikrāmati vā vācayatītyatra kutvaṃ vino luki prāptasya padakāryasya bādhārthaṃ bhasaṃjñātideśasyāvaśyakatvāt, "tatkarotī"tyādinirdeśānuguṇatvācca subantāṇṇijiti pakṣa eva jyāyānityāhuḥ.
