((e)) is substituted for the ((a)) of ((t])), ((phala)) ((bhaja)) and ((trapa)), and the reduplicate is elided, when the affixes of the Perfect having an indicatory ((k)) (or ((ṅ))) follow, as well as when ((thal)) with the augment ((iṭ)) follows. Source: Aṣṭādhyāyī 2.0
