In the strong cases, with the exception of the Vocative Singular, the penultimate vowel is lengthened in ((ap)), in stems formed by ((tṛn)) and ((tṛc)) affixes, and in ((svasṛ)), ((naptṛ)), ((neṣṭṛ)), ((tvaṣṭṛ)), ((kṣattṛ)), ((hotṛ)), ((potṛ)) and ((praśāstṛ))|| Source: Aṣṭādhyāyī 2.0
