Grammatical Sūtra: प्यायः पी pyāyaḥ pī

Description:

((pī)) is optionally the substitute of the root ((pyāy)) 'to increase' before the Nishṭhâ affixes. Source: Aṣṭādhyāyī 2.0

The substitute morpheme pī replaces [the whole of 1.1.55 of the verbal stem] pyāy `swell' (I 517) [before 1.1.66 the affixes 3.1.1 denoted by the t.t. niṣṭhā 22].
