ityucyate. vṛddhasya yuvasaṃjñā vā bhavati pūjāyāṃ gamyamānāyām. saṃjñasāmarthyād
gotraṃ yuvapratyayena punarucyate. vṛddhasya iti ṣaṣṭhīnirdeśo vicitrā sūtrasya
kṛtiḥ iti. tatra bhavān gārgyāyaṇaḥ gārgyo vā. tatra bhavān vātsyāyanaḥ vātsyo

vā anyasmin sapiṇḍe sthaviratare jivati 4.1.165 saptamapuruṣāvadhayaḥ sapiṇḍāḥ smaryante. yeṣām ubhayatra daśāhāni kulasyannaṃ na bhujyate ityevam ādikāyāṃ kriyāyām anadhikāraḥ. bhrāturanyasmin sapiṇḍe sthaviratare jīvati pautraprabhṛterapatyaṃ jīvadeva yuvasaṃjñam vā bhavati. prakṛtaṃ jīvatigrahaṇaṃ sapiṇḍasya viśeṣaṇam, idaṃ tu saṃjñinaḥ. tarabnirdeśa ubhayotkarṣārthaḥ. sthānena vayasā ca utkṛṣṭe yathā syāt pitṛvye pitāmahe bhrātari vayasādhike jivati. gargasya apatyaṃ gārgyāyaṇaḥ gārgyo vā. vātsyayanaḥ vātsyo vā. dakṣāyaṇaḥ dākṣirvā. sthaviratare iti kim? sthānavayonayūne gārgya eva bhavati. jīvati iti kim? mṛte mṛto vā gārgya eva bhavati.

vānyasmin sapiṇḍe sthaviratare jīvati. , 4.1.165 "saptamapuruṣāvadhayaḥ" iti. saptamaḥ puruṣo'vadhiryeṣāṃ sapiṇḍānāṃ te tathoktāḥ samānapiṇḍāḥ,nipātanāt sabhāvaḥ, "samānasya" 6.3.83 iti yogavibhāgādvā. tasya ca yogavibhāgasyaitalliṅgam, tena sapiṇḍāḥ śāstreṣvā saptamātpuruṣāt. pareṇa ye te sapiṇḍā nocyante. "yeṣām" ityatyādhikāra iti pareṇa sambandhaḥ.
"ubhayatra" iti. janmani maraṇe ca. "ityevamādikāyām" iti. ādiśabdena nivṛttyādikāḥ kriyāśca gṛhrante. tathā coktam---

"tarabnirdeśaḥ" ityādi. asati hi tarabnirdeśe sthaviraśabdādvayaḥprakarṣamātraṃ gamyate, tarapā tu sthānaprakarṣo'pi gamyate. tasmādubhayorutkarṣārthastarabnirdeśaḥ kṛtaḥ. "pitṛvye pitāmahe bhrātari ca" iti. dvāvapyetau sthānata utkṛṣṭau. sthānaśabdena ceha sambandhaviśeṣa ucyate; anekārthatvāddhātūnām.
