Description:

The affix 'Liṅ' is optionally employed after a verb when it has another verb which expresses 'expectation', in construction with it, but not so when the word 'yat' is used. Source: Aṣṭādhyāyī 2.0

[The l-substitutes of lIṄ 152] are optionally (vibhāṣā) introduced [after 1.2 a verbal stem 1.91] co-occurring with a verbal stem (dhāt-au) denoting expectation (sam-bhāvana-vacan-é) but not with yád- `which'.
