Description:

Source:Laghusiddhānta kaumudī (Ballantyne)

There is luk-elision of the ((tadrāja)) (4.1.174) affix, when the word is used in the plural number, provided that the plural number is taken by the base itself, and not by its standing as a compound epithet dependent upon another word, and provided that the base is not used in the feminine. Source: Aṣṭādhyāyī 2.0

[luK (0̸¹) 58] replaces a tad-rājá affix (4.1.168-174; 5.2.112-119) introduced after a nominal stem when it denotes a plurality (bahúṣu) if that plurality is expressed by the stem ending in that affix (téna=evá) except when followed by a feminine affix (á-stryām).
