sūtrākṣaraireveṣṭaṃ sidhyatītyucyeta, tarhi `apratyaya' ityetadabhyupagamya
pratyayaparyudāse `sāti'grahaṇaṃ liṅgaṃ, pratyayāntaparyudāse tu
taddhitagrahaṇamityapratyayagrahaṇamevāvarttya vyākhyāyatāṃ, kimanayā kusṛṣṭayeti dik.

`bahupaṭava' ityādyarthaṃ sūtramiti navyāḥ. na caivaṃ `bahucpūrvaḥ prātipadika'mityeva
sūtryatāmiti vācyam, `mūlakenopadaṃśa'mityādau kṛdantatvenātiprasaṅgāt,
gatikārakapūrvasyāpi kṛdantatvāt. na ca samāsagrahaṇaṃ niyamārthamiti nistāraḥ,

arthavadadhāturapratyayaḥ prātipadikam 147, 1.2.45 athājantapuṃliṅgaprakaraṇam. arthavadadhātu. pratyayaṃ pratyayāntaṃ ceti. sūtre tantrādinobhayaṃ vivakṣitamiti bhāvaḥ. arthava"diti napuṃsakanirdeśasyā'nuguṇaṃ viśeṣyamadhyāharati--śabdasvarūpamiti.
