After roots ending in a consonant, that adjoins a vowel of {ík} pratyâhâra, the substitutes of liṅ (III.3.161) and {sich} (3.1.44) when they begin with a consonant of jhal pratyâhâra, are {kit}, when the âtmanepada affixes follow. Source: Aṣṭādhyāyī 2.0

The lIṄ replacement (sīyu̱Ṭ 3.4.102) and the lUṄ replacement (si̱C 3.1.44) [beginning with jha̱L 9, introduced after verbal stems (ending in 1.1.72) ha̱L 10, preceded by iK (= i, u, r̥, l̥,) 9 function like a K-IT 5] before ātmanepadá endings (= taṄ 1.4.100).
