miṣ मिष्

Definition: cl.6 P. () miṣ/ati- (of the simple verb only pr. p. miṣ/at-;in grammar also perfect tense mimeṣa-; Aorist ameṣīt-; future meṣitā-, meṣiṣyati-etc.; see un--and nimiṣ-), to open the eyes, wink, blink etc. etc. (generally used in genitive case = before the eyes of, in presence of, in spite of exempli gratia, 'for example' miṣato bandhu-vargasya-,the whole number of friends looking on id est before their very eyes, in spite of them) ; to rival, emulate (spardhāyām-)
