Definition: wording of the affix झ (see above) suggested by the Varttikakara to have the last vowel of अन्त acute, by चितः (P.VI.1.163) the property चित्व being transferred from the original झ to अन्त; cf. Kas. तथा च झचश्चित्करणमर्थवद् भवति on P.VII.1.3.
