Definition: a. [concerned with hear ing: srotra] versed in sacred lore, conversant with the Vedas; m. Brâhman learned in the Veda, learned theologian (mantri-, minister learned in the scriptures): -sât-kri, present to Brâhmans learned in the Veda.
