vāyasa In the Rigveda and later denotes a ‘large bird.’ The sense of ‘crow’ occurs in the Sadviηiśa Brāhmaṇa only.
vāyata ‘Descendant of Vayant,’ is the patronymic of Pāśadyumna in the Rigveda. Cf. Vyant.

sūtrakārasya sādhanaviśeṣaḥ, vastraṃ vāyate anena iti।

kāmuka, kāmin, kāmavṛtti, kāmapravaṇa, kāmāsakta, sakāma, kāmana, kamana, kamra, kamitṛ, kāmayitā, ratārthin, maithunārthin, suratārthin, maithunābhilāṣin, sambhogābhilāśin, maithunecchu, vyavāyin, anuka, abhīka, abhika, lāpuka, abhilāṣuka, vyavāyaparāyaṇa, lampaṭa, strīrata, strīpara, kāmārta, kāmātura, kāmāndha, kāmānvita, kāmāviṣṭa, kāmagrasta, kāmādhīna, kāmayukta, kāmākrānta, kāmajita, jātakāma, kāmopahata   

yaḥ strīsambhogābhilāṣī asti।

saḥ kāmukaḥ vyaktiḥ asti।

vāya

pāpam, kalmaṣam, kilviṣam, pātakam, pāpmā, agham, duritam, enas, kaluṣam, abhadram, aśubham, vṛjanam, vṛjinam, doṣaḥ, aparādhaḥ, duṣkṛtam, kalkam, aṃhas, aṃghas, mantuḥ, kulmalam, kalaṅkaḥ, pratyavāyaḥ, kiṇvam, amīvam, paṅkam, jaṅgapūgam   

tat karma yad asmin loke anuttamaḥ tathā ca paraloke aniṣṭaṃ phalaṃ janayati।

kabīrasya mate asatyavadanaṃ pāpam asti।

vāya

gaṅgā, mandākinī, jāhnavī, puṇyā, alakanandā, viṣṇupadī, jahnutanayā, suranimnagā, bhāgīrathī, tripathagā, tistrotāḥ, bhīṣmasūḥ, arghyatīrtham, tīrtharījaḥ, tridaśadīrghikā, kumārasūḥ, saridvarā, siddhāpagā, svarāpagā, svargyāpagā, khāpagā, ṛṣikulyā, haimavratī, sarvāpī, haraśekharā, surāpagā, dharmadravī, sudhā, jahnukanyā, gāndinī, rudraśekharā, nandinī, sitasindhuḥ, adhvagā, ugraśekharā, siddhasindhuḥ, svargasarīdvarā, samudrasubhagā, svarnadī, suradīrghikā, suranadī, svardhunī, jyeṣṭhā, jahnusutā, bhīṣmajananī, śubhrā, śailendrajā, bhavāyanā, mahānadī, śailaputrī, sitā, bhuvanapāvanī, śailaputrī   

bhāratadeśasthāḥ pradhānā nadī yā hindudharmānusāreṇa mokṣadāyinī asti iti manyante।

dharmagranthāḥ kathayanti rājñā bhagīrathena svargāt gaṅgā ānītā।

vāya

alpībhāvaḥ, pratyavāyaḥ, hrāsaḥ, upakṣayaḥ, apacayaḥ, parihāniḥ, parihāṇiḥ   

nyūnībhavanasya kriyā bhāvo vā।

vidyutaḥ samyak prayogāt deyakasya alpībhāvaḥ bhavati।

vaśīkṛ, svāyattīkṛ, damaya, pradamaya, uddamaya, ubj, ullāpaya, nikṛ, nirji, vinirji, saṃniyam, samaj   

balapūrvakaṃ svādhīnatānukūlaḥ vyāpāraḥ।

āṅglaśāsakāḥ ādau bhāratasya laghūni rājyāni vaśyakurvan।

kākaḥ, vāyasaḥ, dhmākṣaḥ, dhvāṃkṣaḥ, dhvāṃkṣarāvī, karaṭaḥ, balibhuk, balibhuj, gṛhabalibhuj, gṛhabalibhuk, balipuṣṭaḥ, balipuṣṭā, balipuṣṭam, cirañjīvī, kāṇaḥ, kāṇūkaḥ, maukuliḥ, divāṭanaḥ, śakrajaḥ, sakṛtprajaḥ, malabhuk, malabhuj, prātarbhoktā, kāravaḥ, anyabhṛt, yūkāriḥ, ariṣṭaḥ, ātmaghoṣaḥ   

khagaviśeṣaḥ- kṛṣṇavarṇīyaḥ khagaḥ yasya dhvaniḥ karkaśaḥ।

kākaḥ śākhāyāṃ sthitvā kākadhvaniṃ karoti।

ūrṇanābhaḥ, lūtā, tantuvāyaḥ, tantunābhaḥ, markaṭakaḥ   

kīṭaviśeṣaḥ, ūrṇā nābhau yasya saḥ।

nācāreṇa vinā sṛṣṭiḥ ūrṇanābheḥ apīṣyate na ca niḥsādhanaḥ kartā kaścit sṛjati kiñcana ।

vāya

sūtracakraḥ, tantuvāyacakram, tāntavacakram, tantuvāpacakram   

tantuvayanārthe upayujyamānaṃ sacakraṃ yantram।

khādī iti vastraprakāraḥ sūtracakre sūtraṃ vayitvā vinirmitaḥ।
