He afterwards gave it to his brother Prasena, from whom it passed into the hands of the monkey-chief Jāmbavat, who got possession of it after having killed Prasena. Kṛiṣṇa, however, overtook Jāmbavat and vanquished him in fight after a long struggle. The monkeychief thereupon presented it along with his daughter to Kṛiṣṇa; see जाम्बवत्. Kṛiṣṇa then gave the jewel back to its proper owner Satrājit, who out of gratitude presented it along with his daughter Satyabhāmā to him. Afterwards when Satyabhāmā was at her father's house with the jewel, Śatadhanvan, at the instigation of a Yādava named Akrūra who desired the jewel for himself, killed Satrājit and gave it to Akrūra. Śatadhanvan was afterwards killed by Kṛiṣṇa, but when he found that the jewel was with Akrūra, he allowed him to retain it with himself after having once shown it to the people.]

jitvan śailini Is the name of a teacher in the Brhadāranyaka Upanisad, a contemporary of Janaka and Yājñavalkya. He held that speech (vāc) was Brahman.
abhijit See Naksatra
kratujit jānaki (‘ descendant of Janaka ’) is mentioned in the Yajurveda as the priest of Raj ana Kauneya. See also Kratuvid.
jaitrāyaṇa sahojit Is apparently in the Kāthaka Samhitā the name of a prince who celebrated the Rājasūya, or ‘ royal consecration.’ Von Schroeder quotes in support of Jaitrāyana as a proper name the derivative Jaitrāyani, ‘descendant of Jaitra/ formed according to the Gana harηādi, which is referred to by Pānini; but it should be noted that in the parallel passage of the Kapisthala Samhitā the reading is different, and no proper personal name appears, the subject being Indra, the god. This reading seems much more probable, for the verse should be general, and suit every king performing the rite.
nagnajit King of Gandhāra, is mentioned in the Aitareya Brāhmana as having been consecrated by Parvata and Nārada. The same king is mentioned with his son Svarjit in the śatapatha Brāhmana, where a remark attributed to one of them on a ritual topic is treated with contempt.
nāgnajita Descendant of Nagnajit,’ is the patronymic of Svarjit in the śatapatha Brāhmana.
śatānīka sātrājita Is mentioned in the Aitareya Brāhmana and the śatapatha Brāhmaṇa as a great king who defeated Dhjtarāçtra, the prince of Kāśi, and took away his sacrificial horse. He was clearly a Bharata. He is also alluded to in the Atharvaveda.

svarjit nāgnajita (‘Descendant of Nagna-jit’) is the name of a royal personage in the śatapatha Brāhmana, a Gandhāra prince, whose views on the ritual are referred to with contempt.
