caru Designates a ‘kettle’ or ‘pot’ from the Rigveda onwards. It had a lid (apidhāηa) and hooks (aηka) by which it could be hung over a fire. It was made of iron or bronze (ayasmaya). The word is also secondarily used4 to denote the contents of the pot, the mess of grain which was cooked in it.
sarvacaru Is found in a passage of the Aitareya Brāhmaṇa and of the Kauṣītaki Brāhmaṇa, where the gods are referred to as holding a sacrifice sarvacarau. The word is the name of a man according to the St. Petersburg Dictionary; the name of a place seems possible, or even a mere adjective may be meant.
