vānaspatya (As a masculine) in one or two passages of the Atharvaveda seems to denote a ‘small tree.’ Elsewhere (as a neuter) it has the sense of the ‘ fruit of a tree ’ (Vanaspati).
apnavāna Apnavāna appears only twice in the Rigveda as an ancient sage, coupled with the Bhrgus, to whose family Ludwig con­jectures him to have belonged.
takavāna Appears to be a patronymic from Taku, and to be the name of a seer in the Rigveda, presumably a descendant of Taku Kaksīvant, for his name occurs in a group of hymns composed by the Kāksīvatas.
