śravaṇadatta (‘Given by śravaṇa’) Kauhala (‘ descendant of Kohala’) is the name of a teacher, a pupil of Suśārada śālañkāyana in the Vamśa Brāhmaṇa.
kuruśravaṇa trāsadasyava Is alluded to as dead in a hymn of the Rigveda, which refers also to his son Upamaśravas, and his father Mitrātithi. In another hymn he is mentioned as still alive. His name connects him on the one hand with the Kurus, and on the other with Trasadasyu and the Pūrus.

In many technical grammatical terms, affixes and substitutes, there is sometimes a portion of them which is not a vital part of the word, but it is for the sake of causing certain prescribed grammatical operations.
